A Grateful Heart!

Most of you know that Emily was home for 5 days after birth and then she was readmitted back into the hospital (if you don't know you can read about it on Victor's blog: thewonderfulnoise.com. Anyway, I walked away from that experience with a grateful heart.. Grateful because I was told we would have to stay in the hospital 10 days minimum and God worked it out to 5.. Grateful to be home with my family.. but most of all grateful that Emily had nothing serious.. I was surrounded by small children like my own that had things like herpes, cancer, and surgical infection.. I had parents around me whose children were suffering great pain. My heart hurt for them.

My problems that used to seem so big are getting smaller as I look at the sufferings of those around me. I know suffering is apart of what this world has to offer us and what Jesus said we would experience if we want to follow Him.. but the sufferings of those around me lately has made me have more of a grateful heart for the good things in life like family, health, and most importantly knowing that I have Jesus to look to in both the times of suffering and the times of great blessings!

God is good!
