Anti Myspace..

So I don't actually have a Myspace but some friends of mine are trying to get me to have one. I am soooo Anti Myspace and I will never get one. Why you ask.. Here is why..

1. My husband has one(that he hardly checks.. thank God)and when I use his to check out my friend's accounts (occasionally)I always get some sexual advertisement that comes up..Ewww.. who needs that crap?

2.There are some peeps from the past I would rather just not deal with..and sure I could block them and have only selected people..but on the other end if I want to talk to just my friends.. do I really need myspace to do that?

3.I don't recognize half the people on there that I know because of their ridiculous poses and angled shots..no offense peeps.

4.It's hard enough for me to find time to blog..My myspace pals have not given me reasons that are good enough for me to invest time into it.

So those are just a few reasons why I will never make my own myspace. The blogging world is all that I will choose to involve myself in as far as posting things goes. Sorry myspace peeps it's just not my thing..Peace out fellow bloggers.

Mops..What an Awesome Group!!!

I love being apart of Mops at our church. For those of you who are unfamiliar w/ mops this stands for Mothers of Preschoolers. Although the name sounds limited to only moms who have children preschool age the truth is there is a whole range of moms that attend mops. There are moms w/ newborns, infants, toddlers, preschoolers of course and so on... They even have mentor moms whose kids are either in their early twenties or off and married. The thing I love about mops is that everyone has something valuable to offer to it. I've never met such a group of caring women ready to step in and help at any moment. For example at Christmas time I had a party to host and the night before the party day my husband was at work, I felt sick, and my little Matthew was so sick and needy. The last thing I wanted to do was think about getting my house ready for a Christmas party. Anyway, one of the mops moms called just to see how we were doing and I happened to ask her for prayer that some how I would be able to get everything done and be given some type of miracle. Well that mom said she would pray and then called me right back a couple minutes later and asked if it was ok if she came and helped me for a little while. She took those couple of minutes just to ask her husband if he was ok watching their 3 kids by himself. He was gracious enough to let her come and she was such an awesome help to me. She arrived at my door with a beautiful smile and a bouquet of flowers just for me. Then she came inside of my house and she cleaned everything that needed cleaning. I was so relieved and felt that she was my answer to prayer. There are so many more stories like this where the women just help each other out. It's been a long time since I've been apart of such an awesome group. I'm very thankful for them and the positive influence they have had on my life.

Prophesy Fulfilled..

Ok..so on my last post I was bragging about my high bowling score and the fact that I demolished Victor's high score..Well I also prophesied that he probably would beat that score of mine..I had no idea that this would come true so quickly. I just bragged about beating him yesterday and today my bragging rights have been snatched from me because Victor pulled a 300 in bowling which is a perfect score!..Dang it!!!! I can't even beat that... the only thing I can try and do is become an equal which means I would have to get 12 strikes in a row...Well, I guess the proverb is true..Pride comes before the fall.

Bragging Rights..

So my husband and I get pretty competitive when we play video games with each other. He beats me about 99% of the time. But finally I've found a game that I can beat him in and i'm loving it so much..Especially because it frustrates him and he keeps trying to beat my score. So what's the game you ask?? It's the Wii bowling game. I beat his high score of 257 with a 266!! Yes!!! I'm sure he'll eventually beat me at that too but for now I'm going to take advantage of the fact that I finally get to have bragging rights.

Expectations...

I was just thinking about how funny it is to be a worship pastor's wife because lots of people not only put expectations on Victor but on me as well. When I meet people for the first time and they find out that I'm Victor's wife I usually have conversations that go like this.. Oh your Victor's wife.. so do you sing too?? No?? Do you play an instrument?? No?? I have a few answers that I like to give every now and then like oh yes I sing with the congregation or yeah I sing in the shower.. I can play chop sticks (i actually havn't said that one yet but i'm sure the opportunity will arise)..It's funny cause i guess if I'm married to such a talented guy I guess people assume I should be talented too..

I think in general the people I have these conversations w/ are good willed and just havn't thought enough about how they would feel if they were in my shoes and people suddenly expected them to be out of the norm.

Valentines Day!! Blessing or Curse??

Well, Valentines day is right around the corner which means my birthday is too since my birthday happens to fall on Valentines day. When I was a little girl I loved the fact that my birthday was on Valentines day because I always got a heart cake and everybody really made a big deal about it. Now that I'm older I'm not so sure how I feel about it.. In fact before Victor was my husband he told me he hated Valentines day..that's a whole other story.. anyway I like the thought that I was born on a day that is specially set aside for people to show their affection and love for one another. But I don't like that most people I know will say Happy Valentines Day to me but they won't say Happy Birthday..

Another thing is if my husband wants to get me some flowers for my birthday he gets charged double the price because of the holiday...but on the other end if you combine the holiday/birthday I guess he could be saving money.. You see I guess it all comes down to perspective. I could go on and on about the good and bad aspects of having my Birthday on this holiday.. but I won't.. So I think I'll end here and let you decide whether you think having your birthday on Valentines day would be a blessing or a curse.

Truant Parents Get Fined ???

Ok.. So Victor and i have both found some pretty ridiculous proposals for new bills. We found one about parents not being allowed to spank there child if they are under three which if you missed you can read more about on Victor's blog, we found another one that basically said that all married people need to have a kid within 3 years of marriage or that marriage would be annulled..(this is also on Victor's blog), and I just found this crazy bill proposal that a republican state lawmaker has filed. This bill basically says that parents of public school children can be fined up to $5oo dollars for missing a parent/teacher conference and not only that but they can also get charged with a misdemeanor!! Wow!!! It makes you wonder if these lawmakers just sit around and make bets about who can get the stupidest law passed...What's next?? I fear the answer to that question. `

God is in Control....

So I'm 6 months pregnant almost 7 and God has done so much in my heart and mind. You see I have an 11 month old little boy right now and I never imagined I would have two little ones so close together in age (they will be about 14 months apart). When we first found out we were pregnant again I had an amazing peace about it from God that I can't even explain. Then fear of all the unknowns kicked in like what's it gonna be like having two so close together and both so needy? And is my little boy gonna feel left out? And how the heck am I gonna have energy for two when one takes up so much and on and on the feelings went.. Then on top of that I got all the wow comments.. brave woman..umm how old is your little boy again??... etc.. I've really learned a lot through this whole process. Lately though I think the most profound thing that I've relearned is that God is in control. For some reason many of us think that in the area of conception we are in control and for the sake of argument we of course have something to do with it but the one who blesses us with that precious little life is God. I can't tell you how many people i've met lately who have either told me that they can't concieve or are having a really really hard time trying to. I then think to myself that I am sooo extremely blessed no matter what the timing. When I have the attitude of thankfulness and realize that God truly is in control then I have peace again. Now when I think about the near future of having two little munchkins I can honestly say there are still a lot of questions and unknowns but it's ok because this is God's timing for us and that's enough for me.

Rent on the Rise.. Again??

Attention renters.. Most of you who rent are expected to get raised again for a third year in a row. According to this article in the yahoo news renters can expect at least a 5% increase in the year 2007. This may not seem like much but if you look back to the year 2004 you will see how much rentals have gone up. From the year 2004 to the present time 2007 rentals will have jumped a whole 14%.. So rentals are going up but pay for most of us is not. Is that really fair?? Does anyone really care?? I sure do. Give me your thoughts on what you think.
