Sincerity

Okay so I've been listening to some more convicting messages.

Here is the thing I'm discovering.. I love listening to convicting messages because then I feel like I'm challenged to grow in my walk with Christ..... and my hope is by sharing these convictions those who have the same desire would also grow in some way.

So this is what I heard....

The two greatest commandments are
1) to love the Lord your God with all your heart,mind, soul, and strength
2) Love your neighbor as yourself

Here's the idea, if we as Christians really obeyed these commands.. If we sincerely Loved God and Loved people... then would we ever have to hear a sermon on sharing the gospel more or would we ever have to hear a message of being a community more.. the answer is NO.. We wouldn't need those types of messages because it would come out of the over flow of our hearts...

Many times what hinders us in ministering to others is a lack of sincerity.. We lack sincerity because we do things because it's the "Christian" thing to do.. We heard a message about reaching out more so now we have to muster up the will inside of us and go do more because it's what we're supposed to do..

RATHER it should be we just Love God and people sooo much that we cannot help but do these things.. I can't help but give to that orphan because I love that orphan.. I can't help but give generously to that person that has a need because i love that person.. Do we get this difference? It's not a religious obligation but from sincerity of the heart.

I'm not claiming I've arrived in this place of sincerity because that's why it convicted me. My prayer is that I would get there by the work of Jesus Christ in my life and being honest with myself that I live for so many other things than just Christ alone.. I need His help to help me truly live out to "Live is Christ" and to Die is GAIN!
